With a Michelin Bib Gourmand amongst its many accolades, St Clement's Restaurant in the Sussex seaside town of St Leonards-on-Sea is a fantastic Modern British restaurant where the fish is a particular speciality. Opened and run by former Le Caprice Chef Nick Hales, St Clement's Restaurant makes a visit to St Leonards – on-Sea more than worthwhile. The aim to serve well sourced, local fish, meat and vegetables in a relaxed and informal atmosphere has been more than achieved and the restaurant appears in all of the major food guides. Simple yet stylish interiors set the scene for Hale's divine menu, driven by seasonality and local produce. The menu changes frequently and there is a choice of set or a la carte as well as daily specials. You could for example tuck into Hastings fishcakes with herb and caper butter crème fraiche and follow with fillet of cod with bubble and squeak, smoked bacon and a balsamic and lentil sauce or breast of duck with red cabbage, turnip dauphinoise and mint salsa. The St Clement's wine list is well worth a mention too with unusual and boutique wines from around the world featured.
